Apparently our names are pretty hard for Spaniards. Ana is a Spanish name which obviously sounds the same as Anna and in Spanish; ‘th’ is pronounced like a ‘z’, hence Ana and Bez. One day they’ll learn! Beth also goes to Nottingham Trent University and we both normally go out on pole dance socials together. She’s living in Benidorm which is about 2 hours for us door to door and we have some big plans for travelling this year!

Our next stop was Benidorm because, obviously, I wanted to see where she is living! In my opinion Benidorm is pretty much as you’d expect it after watching a few episodes of the TV show. We went out on a night out which was err… interesting. We went to the beach (and tried to even out the tan lines on our boobies a little bit!) and also had an AMAZING roast dinner! Well, it was good but when you miss home comforts they become so much better!
We also celebrated Halloween together in Alicante. Although Beth and I class ourselves a masters in the field of fancy dress (we’ve had a lot of practice) we didn’t think Spain was quite ready so we went as boring, stereotypical cats. We were right, less than half the people that went out were in fancy dress and most of those were just girls being cats and devils. In El Barrio is where all the bars are and you can buy a litre of vodka/tequila and mixer for THREE EUROS!! That’s about TWO POUNDS FIFTY!!! Safe to say we were a little bit tipsy…
This weekend we went to Murcia for. It’s only an hour and a half away on the train and we could get a cheap hotel too! We went to see all of Murcia’s beautiful sights including the
Santa Maria cathedral which is astonishing inside and out and the casino that is now my dream location for my wedding! The cathedral took so long to build that it has Gothic and Baroque influences and has a beautiful bell tower too (behind in the picture). I’m always interested in all the secrets and stories in places like this – one of the things I found out was that the heart of Alfonso X, one of Spain’s old kings, is buried in the cathedral behind the alter! If you’re ever in Murcia the things you NEED to see are the cathedral, casino and parks and if you’re around at Christmas you need to see the never ending Christmas lights and The Belén (nativity scene).

We also ate very, very well! We found a cute little teashop (Pan Moreno) that was only 2€ each for a tea infusion and a pastry. We went twice. We also went out for Italian on Friday night and I had the most amazing spaghetti with white fish, prawns, squid and my favourite, mussels! I was absolutely defeated but it was soooo worth it!

Our journey home was a bit of a nightmare though, as Murcia is such a small city and we’d seen pretty much all of it and rain was forecast we decided to catch the earlier train. We got up, put our bags in reception, went for some churros and then headed for the station. We arrived 15 minutes before our train and THEN remembered that our suitcases were still in the hotel reception!! We did our best to run back to the hotel and back (10 mins walk) but because we were well wrapped up and had day bags on our backs running was a massive challenge! We made the train with 30 seconds to spare and were not okay for a good 20 minutes after!
Some of the places we’re planning on going to are Barcelona, Cordoba, Sevilla, Granada and Castilla y Leon. Can’t wait!!!

-Turns out, I’m very ticklish when there are 7 five-year-olds tickling me at once!
-Boys look like they are a lot more caring of their girlfriends in Spain. Always holding hands, kissing, complimenting… It’s cute to see (although some things I’ve seen should really have been saved for the bedroom!
-Despite the fact that my accent is the accent that is taught to foreigners, they find it a lot easier to understand American accents because of film and TV.
I’ll finish my blog with a quote from a 6/7 year old in class this week when we were learning animal body parts. “Do humans have tails?” “The boys do!”

Aparentemente nuestros nombres son bastante difícil para los españoles. Nuestra siguiente parada fue en Benidorm porque obviamente, quería ver donde ella está viviendo! En mi opinión Benidorm es más o menos lo que se espera que después de ver algunos episodios de la serie de televisión Britanico. Salimos por la noche que era err … interesante. Fuimos a la playa (y trató de igualar las líneas de bronceado en nuestras tetas un poco!) Y también tuvimos una cena asado increíble que es muy tipa de Inglaterra! Pues, era bueno, pero cuando te falta las comodidades del hogar se convierten en mucho mejor!
También celebramos Halloween juntos en Alicante. Aunque Beth y yo somos maestros en el campo de disfraces (que hemos tenido mucha práctica) Creímos que España no estaba lista, así que nos fuimos en disfraz de gatos; estereotipados y aburridos. Menos de la mitad de las personas que salieron estaban en disfraz y la mayoría de ellos eran sólo chicas que son los gatos y los demonios. En El Barrio esta donde todos los bares y se puede comprar un litro de vodka/tequila y mezclador para TRES EUROS!! Es seguro decir que estábamos un poco emborrachas…
Este fin de semana nos fuimos a Murcia. Está sólo una hora y media de distancia en el tren y pudimos conseguir un hotel barato! Fuimos a ver todos los lugares hermosos de Murcia, como la catedral de Santa María, que es asombrosa dentro y por fuera y tambien el casino que ahora es el lugar de mis sueños para mi boda! Creo que las cosas que NECESITAS ver si estas en Murcia son el catedral, casino, parques, y en la navidad, las luces y el belén.

Las cosas que he aprendido
– Mis vecinos les encanta el sexo. También necesitan una nueva cama más tranquila.
– La gente tiene que aprender a recoger caca de perro; es por todas partes!
– Resulta que estoy muy delicado cuando hay 7 de cinco años de edad me hacían cosquillas a la vez!
– Muchachos parecen que son mucho más cuidados de sus novias en España. Siempre cogiendo de la mano, besando, complementando… Es lindo ver (aunque algunas cosas que he visto debería estar siendo salvado por el dormitorio!
– A pesar de que mi acento es el acento que se enseña a los extranjeros, se dice que es mucho más fácil entender acentos americanos a causa de cine y televisión.
Voy a terminar mi blog con una cita de un 6/7 años de edad en la clase esta semana, cuando estábamos aprendiendo las partes del cuerpo de los animales. “¿Los seres humanos tienen cola?” “Los chicos lo hacen!”
